Audience

The seminar is designed for managers, supervisors, and continuous improvement practitioners who work in both manufacturing and office environments and who have a desire to better understand how to use value stream maps to drive improvements in their operations.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this seminar, one will be able to:

·         Understand the terminology and symbols used in value stream maps;

·         Create a value stream map for the current state;

·         Analyze a current state value stream map to identify future state improvements;

·         Create a value stream map for a future state.

 Outline

·         Terminology and symbols used in value stream maps;

·         Understanding flow and cycle times;

·         Drawing current state maps;

·         Analyzing the current state maps;

·         Identifying process improvement opportunities;

·         Drawing future state maps

·         The seminar will include hands-on exercises to create current and future state maps for a simulated process.  This will allow participants to determine flow and cycle time and to identify improvement changes.
