* "The Power to Persuade and Influence Without Authority"
presented by Lori Silverman Please consider these seminars for "in-house" presentation, as well. "Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)" More and more enterprises are adding GD&T requirements to their conventionally toleranced engineering drawings, necessitating training of this type. An understanding of GD&T is required in order to correctly interpret these GD&T controlled engineering drawings. The basics of GD&T will be reviewed. Included will be some hands-on examples of measuring of part features using the application of GD&T principals. Starting with basic print reading knowledge, the seminar will cover the symbols, terminology and rules of GD&T as based on the current version of the standard ASME Y14.5M-1994. In this seminar, Gay will teach you how to: identify datums and their use; understand the relationship of size dimensions to the form of the part; interpret feature control frames; compute Maximum Material Condition (MMC) & Least Material Condition (LMC) values; compute positional tolerance zones including use of bonus tolerancing; design simple MMC gages under GD&T control; interpret the five general rules of GD&T; inspect to composite positional tolerancing requirements; apply graphical inspection analysis to GD&T control. Learn More."Human Error Prevention" In addition to discovery and invention, human error prevention can be the greatest contributor to improved productivity, safety and quality. Persons responsible for improving productivity, safety and quality should consider attending this seminar. The principles and practices of human error prevention are universally applicable regardless of the type of industrial, commercial or governmental enterprise, and regardless of the type of function performed within the enterprise. This seminar is truly unique and up to date with the latest developments in human error prevention. Marguglio's new taxonomy of human error causal factors and his human error-related models demonstrate his leadership in this subject. Examples and case studies amply reinforce the human error prevention principles and practices. This seminar covers: * Classifications of human error; * The four levels of human error; * The three levels of barriers to human error and to the hazards activated by human error; * The four types of barriers at each barrier level; * Methods by which to make barriers effective; * Error-inducing conditions; * Behaviors to counteract error-inducing conditions; * Thought processes and behaviors leading to non-conservative decisions; * Thought processes and behaviors leading to conservative decisions; * Techniques to prevent recurrence of error - e.g., coaching; * Metrics; * Defense in depth. (Click "Learn More", below, to see the learning objectives and outline and Marguglio's credentials.) "Measuring Organizational / Process Performance" This seminar satisfies an expressed need of many professionals who struggle to determine how to measure performance of an organization, system or process. The principles and practices covered in this seminar are universally applicable to systems and processes within organizations. Learn how to: identify metrics to support organization, system or process strategy or needs; define, gather data for, and analyze each metric; assess any set of metrics for gaps, conflicts and proper alignment; optimally display metrics to maximize their benefits; use metrics to drive organization / individual activities that will achieve desire outcomes; recognize the specific criteria and circumstances under which any metric may become obsolete. "Problem Reporting, Root Cause Analysis, & Corrective Action" Persons who are responsible for identifying and reporting off-normal conditions, evaluating the conditions and their effects, identifying causal factors, recommending various types of corrective actions, tracking the implementation of corrective actions, and managing the overall system should consider attending this seminar. (Click "Learn More", below, to see the learning objectives and outline and Marguglio's credentials.) Marguglio's unique analytical templates yield greater consistency in the application of the various root cause analysis tools and yield greater effectiveness in the results of root cause analysis. "Quality & Environmental Auditing - ISO 19011" This seminar is designed for quality and environmental auditors-in-training, auditors, and audit supervisors and managers who have responsibility for the internal and supplier quality audit processes. This seminar is specific with regard to the design of the audit program, the process for performing internal audit and the process for performing supplier audit. (Click "Learn More", below, to see the learning objectives and outline and Marguglio's credentials.) Again, Marguglio makes unique contributions regarding the planning and conduct of audit. "The Power to Persuade and Influence Without Authority" How often do you need others to take a particular action or change their minds on an issue? Ever wonder why some individuals are more successful at achieving these outcomes? What can you do to get the same results? Anyone can be influenced or persuaded; the challenge is learning what techniques really work, what approaches often do not, and why. Discover how to enhance your credibility, the difference between persuasion and influence, and how to decide what technique to use to positively alter the behaviors, attitudes and beliefs of others to enable you to achieve the results you need at work. In this seminar, Silverman will teach you how to: increase your personal credibility by building trust and expertise; analyze a work situation for key factors related to power, persuasion and influence; determine whether it ’s best to use a persuasion or influence strategy to get others to change or take action; utilize personality temperament to better understand an individual’s needs and persuade him or her; use stories as a tool of persuasion; state three ways in which language can help or hinder your abilities to persuade and influence; apply seven proven influence strategies in the workplace.+ |
