Public Seminars: In addition to discovery and invention, human error prevention can be the greatest contributor to improved productivity, safety and quality. Persons responsible for improving productivity, safety and quality should consider attending this seminar. The principles and practices of human error prevention are universally applicable regardless of the type of industrial, commercial or governmental enterprise, and regardless of the type of function performed within the enterprise. This seminar is truly unique and up to date with the latest developments in human error prevention. Ben Marguglio's new taxonomy of human error causal factors and his human error-related models demonstrate his leadership in this subject. Examples and case studies amply reinforce the human error prevention principles and practices.

"Root Cause Analysis" Seminar – Ben Marguglio Persons who are responsible for identifying and reporting off-normal conditions, evaluating the conditions and their effects, identifying causal factors, recommending various types of corrective actions, tracking the implementation of corrective actions, and managing the overall system should consider attending this seminar. Ben Marguglio's analytical logic and rigor, with unique analytical templates, yield greater consistency in the application of the various root cause analysis tools and greater effectiveness in the results of root cause analysis.
This seminar covers all of the elements of a problem / condition
reporting, root cause analysis and corrective action system with
emphasis on the following root cause analysis techniques: Failure Mode &
Effects Analysis for hardware problems and Hazard-Barrier-Effects Analysis
for management and technical process problems.
Also, this seminar will cover a modified Hazard-Barrier-Effects Analysis
technique that can be completed for precursors in four person-hours or
less - a technique that allows the root cause analysis resource
expenditure to be proportional to the significance of the problem, while
still enabling the analyst to identify human performance root causes. Click "Learn More" to see seminar outline. "Cost Effective Requirements for Procurement of Design & Construction Services / Components" Seminar – Ben Marguglio This seminar covers dozens of contractual clauses that make quality and economic sense for the procurement of design and construction services and components for both new facilities and major modifications to existing facilities. Although the focus in this seminar is on contractual clauses that are applicable to nuclear powered electricity generating facilities and U.S. Department Of Energy nuclear laboratories, and although the basic source document is ANSI/ASME NQA-1, quality and procurement engineers from other types of highly technical and complex facilities will definitely benefit from this seminar because the clauses apply equally to these facilities (e.g., gas and oil facilities, ports, military facilities). For quality and economic benefit, the contractual clauses go beyond the standards noted above. The implementation of a few of these clauses can have the potential for avoiding tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars in unnecessary expenditures. The major elements of each clause will be described and the logic supporting the technical and economic benefits of the clause will be discussed.
The Commercial Grade
Item Dedication, Commercial Grade Service Dedication and Commercial
Grade Software Dedication processes will be described, along with Failure
Mode and Effects Analysis, it being a necessary element of
Commercial Grade Item / Service / Software Dedication. Audience: This presentation is designed for those who are responsible for designing, implementing and overseeing management and technical processes. Learning Outcomes:

Outline: “Management of Change to Facility Design” Webinar – Ben Marguglio
Audience: Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this webinar, one will understand:
· Change
management and configuration management definitions and terminology; Outline:
· Differences
between managing changes to the design of a facility as contrasted
to managing changes to the design of items that are manufactured in
lots or batches. Handouts are not provided for this webinar but may be licensed separately following the webinar. "Visual Lean Basics – Lean Eyes – Learning to See Waste" Webinar – Glenn Tanzman This webinar is designed for managers, supervisors, and implementers of any operational processes: production, logistics, shipping/receiving, maintenance, as well as those working in purchasing, quality and administration. Manufacturing and maintenance are all about processes. The effectiveness of these processes is a function of good process design which eliminates waste, good communication of that design, and good team efforts. An effective process design is one in which the tasks and activities are value-adding (VA) – something for which the customer is willing to pay. Waste is the non-value-adding tasks and activities (NVA) – that are included in our processes, often because of false perceptions of reality and need. Developing the ability to recognize waste is an essential first step on the right path of the Lean journey. "Lean Eyes" means having that ability. Two useful tools to help detect and eliminate waste in processes will be described in detail. The goal is to enable the participant to easily identify, quantify, and prioritize the wasteful tasks and activities that occur both on the production floor and in the office. Learning objectives: · Identify
the 8 deadly wastes; Handouts are not provided for this webinar but may be licensed separately following the webinar. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ In-House Seminars: (Click on seminar title for details) |
